After over a decade, the Media Consortium has shut down. If you run a news outlet and are looking for technical support and services, we suggest you contact one of these organizations:

  • Institute for NonProfit News, http://inn.org --for nonprofit journalism organizations
  • Local Independent Online News Publishers, http://lionpublishers.com --for local online journalism organizations
  • Association of Alternative Newsmedia, https://aan.org --for local print and online journalism organizations (mostly former alt-weeklies)
  • National Federation of Community Broadcasters, http://nfcb.org --for community radio stations and producers
  • Alliance for Community Media, http://acm.org --for public access, government access and educational access stations
  • The Alliance for Media Arts and Culture, http://thealliance.media --for film documentarians and media artists
  • CUNY Center for Community and Ethnic Media, http://ccem.journalism.cuny.edu --for media created by immigrants

If you run a progressive/social justice news outlet and are seeking likeminded peers, consider going to the Allied Media Conference in 2020. Also keep an eye out for the Southern Center for Movement Journalism, which will go live with a website and programming in 2019.
